The Challenge
The existing kitchen presented several difficulties for the occupant, including: Limited accessibility around key working areas. Insufficient space for safe movement and manoeuvrability. Outdated fittings and fixtures that no longer met the user's requirements. The need to balance practical adaptations with a modern domestic aesthetic. As with many DFG projects, the challenge was to create a highly functional environment without making the space feel clinical or institutional.

The kitchen was redesigned to improve accessibility and ease of use while creating a modern, practical space. The works included the installation of accessible workstations, open under-counter sink access, new cabinetry, worktops, flooring, electrical alterations and wall finishes. The completed kitchen provides improved manoeuvrability and functionality, supporting independent living whilst delivering a high-quality finish tailored to the resident's needs.
